The Porto Etno Orchestra can be considered the music foundation of the Festival: ever since the Festival’s first edition in 2017, the Orchestra has been performing at every Porto Etno. In addition to accompanying numerous guests, the Orchestra also performs their songs.
In Voices in Etno, a new Porto Etno programme, the Orchestra was accompanied by 4 well-known Croatian musicians – Neno Belan, Boris Štok, Barbara Munjas and Alba Nacinovich who performed their hit singles in a completely new arrangement.
One of the most popular Croatian pop and rock singer-songwriter, Neno Belan has been sailing the music sea for 40 years singing about Love, the basic building block in our lives. His career began in 1984, when he formed Đavoli, the legendary Split band in which Neno both played the guitar and sang. After the breakup of Đavoli, Neno started his solo artist career at the beginning of the 1990s. In 1993 he released his first solo album, Vino noći (Wine of the Night), featuring the huge hit of the same name. Four years later he started collaborating with Fiumens, a band from Rijeka, which has continued to this day. Throughout his career, Neno has created his well-known pop and rock sound enriched with Mediterranean vibes, known as Belan pop.
Neno Belan
Boris Štok is a singer and songwriter. His debut EP album Puls (Pulse)was released in 2017, and that same year he was nominated for the Porin Award as the best new act. In 2018 he received the Porin award in the category of Best New Alternative Music Album for his first independent long-playing album Ispod kože (Under the Skin). His second independent album, Uvijek dio mene (Always a Part of Me) was also nominated. In November 2022 his third studio album called 3 was released, and in 2023 and 2024 he contested at Dora, a Croatian song contest for the Eurovision. He is a co-founder and a long-time member of the Quasarr band that received several nominations for awards and won several awards. In Quasarr Boris is a songwriter, music co-author and the main vocalist. With Vedran Križan he is a member of a Manofon project, and that duo has also published two albums.
Boris Štok
Barbara Munjas is a musician from Ika who has been active on the music scene for more than 15 years. For many years she performed with a well-known Istrian band Gustafi. An author’s phase in her own band Barbari followed; during her work with Barbari, she issued two albums and won one Karlovačko Rockoff award for the best performer. Since 2017 she has been performing under her own name, creating audio and music that differ from her previous work with Barbari. In addition to creating her own original music, she participates in the Jazzistra Orchestra project as a solo performer in the Jazzistra svira KUD Idijote (Jazzistra plays KUD Idijoti) programme. She also has experience in writing music for plays. Her performance at Dora 2024 announced her new album in Croatian, which is the result of her cooperation with Zoran Majstorović as the author of all song’ arrangements. Her new album also announces a change in sound and approach to music.
Barbara Munjas
Alba Nacinovich studied in Trieste, Italy, and at the School of Music in Porto, Portugal, and earned a diploma in jazz singing. She has received several awards as a composer, arranger, and performer of jazz, popular, electronic, and film music.She performed around Europe with renowned musicians and had the pleasure of performing at venues such as Viennese Porgy & Bess, Ronnie Scott’s Upstairs in London, Radio France’s headquarters in Paris, and Arena in Pula. She won the Music Innovation Prize at the Karlovačko RockOff Festival in 2015, and in 2019 her electro-duo The Hunting Dogs was awarded the 1st prize for the Best Up and Coming Bend at the Italian festival ArezzoWave. She authored the Adultish EP album released in 2023 by Alba&Leo duo.
Alba teaches jazz singing at the Nino Rota Conservatory of Music in Italy.

The Porto Etno Orchestra is led by Zoran Majstorović, the award-winning multi-instrumentalist from Rijeka (guitar, oud, Orchestra lead), and its members include Borko Rupena (drum), Bojan Skočilić (double bass, electric bass), Dorian Cuculić (keyboards), Vanja Vitezić (percussions) and Robert Mikuljan (trumpet).
