Melting Pot – gastronomic programme

The Porto Etno Festival never comes alone – it is accompanied by an extremely popular gastronomic program organised by representatives of minorities active in Rijeka and the County. This time the Porto Etno gastro story moves to Kont. On Saturday, 23 May, those of you who are curious about new tastes and flavours will have the opportunity to enjoy numerous national dishes, all spiced up with folklore performances.

This year we will taste specialties from Albania, Slovakia, Serbia, the Philippines, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Macedonia, Ukraine, and Roma specialties. The Center for Cultural Dialogue is also participating with their Novi susjedi 2.0 (New Neighbors 2.0) project, which will present the gastronomy of Afghanistan, Iran, and Chechnya.

Part of this experience is the folklore program of representatives of minorities that accompanies the gastronomic gathering, so on Saturday the following will also perform: Community of the Albanians of the Primorje – Gorski Kotar County, Association of Slovaks Rijeka, Community of Serbs, Riječke Palade, Češka beseda Rijeka Association, EuroPhil Dance Troupe representing FilCom Rijeka, Association RoMorčić, Serbian cultural society “Prosvjeta” subbranch Rijeka, National Community of the Bosnians, “St Vitus” Development and Integration Centre, Macedonian cultural society “Ilinden”, Cultural and art society SEVDAH Rijeka, National Community of Montenegrins Rijeka, Community of the Italians of Rijeka and Opatija, Russian home – Association of the Russian national minority of the Primorje – Gorski Kotar County , Democratic Community of Hungarians of Croatia –Association of the Primorje-Gorski Kotar County.
