Voices in Etno: Boris Štok, Barbara Munjas, Alba Nacinovich… + Porto Etno Orchestra

The Porto Etno Orchestra can be considered the music foundation of the Festival: ever since the Festival’s first edition in 2017, the Orchestra has been performing at every Porto Etno. In addition to accompanying numerous guests, the Orchestra also performs their songs.

In Voices in Etno, a new Porto Etno programme, the Orchestra will accompany 5 well-known musicians – Boris Štok, Barbara Munjas and Alba Nacinovich are the first on the list of musicians who will perform their hit singles in a completely new arrangement. You will have to be a bit more patient for the names of the other three performers – we will disclose them soon…

Boris Štok is a singer and songwriter. His debut EP album Puls (Pulse)was released in 2017, and that same year he was nominated for the Porin Award as the best new act. In 2018 he received the Porin award in the category of Best New Alternative Music Album for his first independent long-playing album Ispod kože (Under the Skin). His second independent album, Uvijek dio mene (Always a Part of Me) was also nominated. In November 2022 his third studio album called 3 was released, and in 2023 and 2024 he contested at Dora, a Croatian song contest for the Eurovision. He is a co-founder and a long-time member of the Quasarr band that received several nominations for awards and won several awards. In Quasarr Boris is a songwriter, music co-author and the main vocalist. With Vedran Križan he is a member of a Manofon project, and that duo has also published two albums.
